The 2015–16 Biathlon World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. The season began on 29 November 2015 in Östersund, Sweden, and ended on 19 March 2016 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. The defending overall champions from the 2014–15 Biathlon World Cup were Martin Fourcade of France and Darya Domracheva of Belarus, but Domracheva missed the season due to illness. Vanessa Hinz (born 24 March 1992) is a former German biathlete and cross-country skier. Hinz started in her first world cup races at the end of the 2012/13-season. At the 2013 European Championships she won a gold medal with the German relay team. In 2014, she participated in the Winter Olympics in Sochi. She was officially nominated by the DOSB on 23 January 2014, but not taken with the team to Russia. So she had to wait at home as stand-by reserve. Tarjei Bø (born 29 July 1988) is a former Norwegian professional biathlete. Awarded Olympic gold medals, World Championship gold medals and World Cup victories from 2010 to 2025. Bø debuted in the Biathlon World Cup on 26 March 2009 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. In the 2010 Winter Olympics, he earned his first gold medal in the 4 × 7.5 km biathlon relay. On 10 December 2010 he won the World Cup sprint race in Hochfilzen, his first world cup victory. He also won the following pursuit race and anchored the winning relay team.
